    Our shipping process explained

Congratulations! You probably landed here because you just sold your old bike or bought your new one! How it goes on with your bike now and how our shipping process looks like, you will learn quickly & clearly in this blogpost.

(Purchase), packing, (self-)collection, forwarding, buycycle checks, start cycling
    👋
Do you know buycycle? We are the leading marketplace for buying and selling pre-owned bikes. Not just any bikes - only beautiful performance bikes. Come and take a ride!

If the sellers were successful with the sale, they must officially confirm the purchase. Once that is done, they will be sent our buycycle shipping material free of charge. Everything the bike needs to safely survive the shipping route is included here.

For buyers: as soon as the purchase is officially confirmed, they can be sure that the seller will start packing in no time and that the new bike will be there soon!

How to sell your bike best, you learn in an extra blogpost.

    2. Packing.

Our packing guide explains simply and unmistakably how to pack and stow the bike. Sellers only need to dismantle a few components and fold a few cardboard boxes (don't worry, it's not half as complicated as building IKEA cabinets...) and the buycycle box is ready to go!

    3. Determine collection date.

Sellers can conveniently choose the pick-up date that suits them best. Our shipping partner will then pick up the packed buycycle box from the seller's home at the selected time and send the bike on its way fully insured.

    4.a Forwarding and shipping.

Shipping a bike on buycycle takes between 7 and 14 days. It is fully insured, so you can be sure that the bike will arrive safely. If you as a buyer need the bike by a certain deadline, it is best to contact our customer service. customer service as soon as possible.

Depending on which country the buyer:in and seller:in are located in, shipping will cost different amounts. You will find a detailed list in this blog post soon.

    4.b Self-collection and test drives.

Each bike on buycycle can in principle also be collected by the buyer directly from the seller. In this case the normal checkout process is followed:

To do this, go to the bike's sale ad, click on "Show purchase options", select "Pick up from seller" in the next step and pay for the bike in advance. Afterwards, the buyer will receive a confirmation e-mail with the seller's contact details in order to arrange a pick-up date.

Both parties will then also receive a link through which they can confirm the successful transfer - only then will the buyer's payment also be transferred to the seller's bank account.

If the buyer changes his mind, the transfer can be refused via the same link and the money will be refunded immediately.

The same process also applies if buyers want to take a test ride. So: Buy a bike, choose to pick it up yourself and, depending on the situation, confirm or decline a handover and thus a definitive purchase.

    buycycle Checks.

When buyers booked a premium or carbon check or the good as new service, the bike first comes to our workshop in Munich, where we give it a thorough overhaul before we send it to the buyer. Without an extra booked check, the bike comes directly to your home.

    6.a Pay out.

After a bike is sold, the payment made is processed through our payment service provider Adyen and collected from the buyer:s bank account.

As soon as the bike has been delivered to the buyer and the buyer does not report any defects or deviations from the condition described in the advertisement, the payment option is activated in the seller's profile. Here the payment of the sales price can be requested to the bank account of the seller. For this purpose, the bank account must only be verified in advance.

The same applies to successful handover in the event of self-collection.

    6.b Unpack, start cycling.

Once the bike has arrived at the buyers, they have 48 hours to report any deviations from the described condition in the sale ad with us. If this is not the case, there is only one thing left for them to do: unpack, screw together, start cycling!

That's how easy shipping with buycycle is. If you have any further questions, you can always contact our Customer Support. We wish you, as always: Happy buying, happy selling, happy cycling!
