The ranking was created by buycycle, the leading marketplace for high-value, pre-owned bikes, by analyzing average monthly global searches on Google from each destination for cycling-related search terms like “cycling + city” and “cycling routes + city”, including in the local language (as of Jan 2024). These data points were combined to reveal which destinations scored the highest for most searched cycling cities. Search volume data was pulled using SEMrush and Ahrefs.
