Got the part from Nobelhobel Hamburg in 2021 during the pandemic, hardly ever rode it due to knee injury. Condition see pictures, it has a few scratches here and there.

You won't find frames comparable to Surly's in most cases: all eyelets on, top finish, even painted on the inside. Cavity sealing not necessary. It was clear from the first start after assembly: This thing runs... (Tires: Schwalbe Super MotoX 2.8). The geo with a 71.5 degree seat angle is a constant invitation to manuals. With the 30mm riser handlebar, the seating comfort is very relaxed, even for long-legged riders. On the trail, you quickly realize that you don't have an ordinary hardtail underneath you. Thanks to the67.5 degree head tube angle with the 140 mm Pike and the fat tires, you can get downhill quickly. You'd be lying if you said that the rear end is as smooth as on a fully. Despite the fat tires, it rattles quite a bit when things get rough and fast. Riding technique is required here if you want to ride a clean line quickly. I'm also very impressed with the Contec seatpost. Clean workmanship, works great, nice lever for the handlebars. For 250 euros, Contec offers the "Drop-A-Gogo", a dropper post that offers everything a biker's heart desires. And it is significantly cheaper than the competition from Fox, Rockshox etc. The built-in Magura MT5 4-piston system does its job without a grumble. On the first few descents, I had a good braking experience, the 4 pistons with 203 mm rotors really grabbed hold. For this course, the brakes are beyond reproach. In terms of weight, it's not quite as heavy as you might think: the rims weigh just under 500g, the tires less than a kilo. These are comparable values to those of good enduro tires, and we weighed the Surly complete in size L at 14 kg. Not a little, but if you consider the equipment, official. With an XO Eagle, lighter brakes and various tuning measures, you can easily shave off another two kilos. However, the weight is hardly noticeable even uphill, the Eagle with a 10-50 sprocket is so well geared that you can crank up even the toughest climbs in a relaxed manner.What we really like about the Karate Monkey is its flexibility: all rigid and suspension forks can be installed in the bike up to a maximum of 140mm. All wheel sizes can also be used, whether 26, Fat, 650b, 27+ or 29er. This means that the bike can be used in all areas. Thanks to Surly technology, the dropouts can be ridden with all axles: Thru axles, Boost, quick release, solid axle...there's nothing that won't fit. Even a "nasty" urban tractor with 28″ urban tires can be set up with it. Great for people who don't want to have 3 bikes, but perhaps have several wheelsets and change them depending on use. If you fancy a somewhat unusual bike, you should really take a closer look at the Surly!
