This is an extremely rare and unique Cannondale Silk Road Slice carbon, La Grange Velo Club 35th Anniversary, Raymond Fouquet Special Edition frame.

La Grange Velo Club is a cycling club from Westwood, California (Los Angeles).

Raymond Fouquet was a Frenchmen from Paris, who moved to the Los Angeles area, and founded the La Grange Velo Club. Initially a club for employees, clients and friends from Mr. Fouquet's restaurant to do weekend rides together, it has grown in one of the most active cycling clubs in California.

In celebration of the club's 35th anniversary, members of the club had the opportunity to order any Cannondale model at Helen's Cycles, a historic and well-known bike store in Santa Monica, in the custom Special Edition finish. All the frames were first polished and then finished with a clear coat in two color options, blue and this candy apple metallic red. It's quite special, with the polished frame visible through the red clear coat, especially in the sun!

La Grange is not a big club, so not many frames were ordered. And frames ordered ranged from full suspension mountainbikes to timetrial racers, and everything in between. The Silk Road is normally already a rare bicycle, especially with the carbon Slice fork, but in this special edition, it is unique.

I lived in Los Angeles for 12 years and in all those years I only ever saw one other 35th anniversary special edition, it was a blue CAAD5 race bike. I never seen another red one, let alone another Silk Road. I truly believe it's the only one in the world!
