Listing for sale my, until very recently, summer bike.
The bike has been meticulously maintained and pretty much looks as new. It has never been raced or crashed. There are not even any common chain scuffs from chain drops etc.
Weight (excluding pedals) is 6.2kg.
The frame size is 51cm. I’m 175cm and at the top end of what BMC suggest the rider height should be but the smaller frame feels lighter and more agile.
The steerer tube has a 10mm spacer on so there is scope to make the front end more aggressive.
The EE brake callipers are not only an upgrade in terms of weight, they are also super stiff and smooth and I’ve never had any issues even on long technical descents.
The wheels run true and the bearings run smooth.
Again, I’ve have had two sets of these exact wheels and only used these on the best summer days.
In the age of disc brakes and complicated, integrated cockpits, this is just a super easy bike to pack down and talk on holiday. It climbs and descends beautifully and the geometry of the bike is fundamentally unchanged from the 2024 BMC SLR_01, literally a few millimetres here and there, indicating that BMC really got it right when they launched this bike.
The crank includes a Stages left sided power meter.
As mentioned, the bike has never been raced or crashed but there is a very very small scuff on the rear mech (probably from being leant up against a well) and a ‘small finger nail’ size mark to one of the stickers on the opposite side chain stay. Other than that, the bike literally looks and rides brand new.
The gear changes are smooth and the drive chain absolutely silent.
The bottom bracket from Wheels Manufacturing threads together into the press fit keeping the crank well aligned and it spins effortlessly.
The bar tape is due a change but I’ll include a fresh set as I have some shifter blips to fit but it’s a bit of a personal decision where on the bars to fit those.
All in all, a fantastic bike. I’m a bit gutted to see it go but I’ve got an updated version of this bike now and can’t justify having a fleet of identical bicycles!
The individual second hand resale price of the components probably exceeds what I have listed this bike at but it would be a pain (and incredibly sad!) to split it up.
