Gios Compact Evolution racing bike size. Early 90's made in Italy racing bike - Gios Evolution, in excellent condition, no tube damage, no defomations, no crushing, no grooves, a few small spots where paint has blown off, no rust spots except under the fork collar (as pictured). vertical tube 48cm. hundred/center - GIOS COMPACT It is the world's first adjustable and interchangeable dropout, forerunner of modern ones. The vertical coupling (non-existent at the time) allows the shortening of the rear chainstay with a consequent increase in rigidity and immediate centering of the rear wheel, allowing a considerable saving of time in case of wheel replacement in the race, a theme very dear to Aldo after his experiences as a Brooklyn mechanic. Its peculiarity also consists in the fact that the "plate" is only for adjustment, since the hub axle rests directly on the body of the frame, thus avoiding any safety problems.
