Fuji geht mit dem Fuji Roubaix Elite an die Grenzen: Mit 7,2 Kilo ist das Rad ausgesprochen leicht, der Rahmen wiegt nur beeindruckende 1137 g – der zweitleichteste im Test. Dazu montiert die US-Marke die leichte Sram-Force-Gruppe und sehr leichte Laufräder.
Dafür liegt der Preis mit 1999 Euro auch an der Obergrenze.
Umso spannender die Frage, was das Fuji Roubaix Elite im Praxistest aus dem Gewichtsvorteil macht. Erst mal gibt es sich zurückhaltend: Man sitzt leicht gestreckt, aber ohne deutliche Sattelüberhöhung, doch langstreckentauglich angenehm.
Trotz geringem Gewicht beschleunigt das Fuji Roubaix Elite nicht besser als das gute Mittelfeld der Testräder. Erstaunlich angesichts der eher tourentauglichen Fahrerhaltung ist die sehr direkte, fast schon zu agile Lenkung. Kurzer Radstand, steiler Lenkwinkel und wenig Gabelnachlauf sorgen für diesen quirligen Charakter, an den man sich kurz gewöhnen muss.
