For sale is a 5th generation (the most current) Canyon Ultimate CFR frameset and seatpost. CFR (Canyon Factory Racing) is the best model that Canyon makes. SLX and SL are the models just below the CFR. The size is XS, which is roughly equivalent to 52CM. I am selling because I need a different size. It was purchased a couple weeks ago. Refer to the Canyon website for geometry and guidance on sizing recommendations. Canyon uses some proprietary measuring standards and doesn't allow any customizations during the order process, so it was a bit of a guess for me. Canyon says an XS works best for those 5'4" - 5'8."
Included are the frame, fork, and seatpost. Not the shifters, handlebars, brakes, or derailleurs. The frame has been disassembled in order to remove the Di2. The press fit bottom bracket will need to be pushed back in.
This is the best way to buy a Canyon because you can choose handlebars with the optimum stem length as you build up the bike. Canyon does not allow for customizations when ordering a complete bike, and the wrong length stem is the #1 complaint from Canyon buyers.
About Me
I am 5'8." I could possibly make an XS work if I bought a longer stem. As it is, my knees touch the bars when standing. I owned the previous generation Canyon Ultimate in an S and it was fine. I tried the XS to be in a more race oriented position, but there is not enough reach and not enough stack height. The S is a better fit for me.
Why pay $5500-$7000 for a Specialized Tarmac or Pinarello Dogma frameset when the Canyon CFR is just as good if not better. I bought the 4th generation Canyon Ultimate in 2016 (new from Germany) and used it for many years. I preferred it over the Tarmac S-Works SL3, SL4, and SL5 which I also owned.
