After a trip to the USA and his experiences there, Ike Tsang founded Merida. He wanted to improve the image of bikes from Taiwan, which did not have a good reputation in America.

The majority of Merida Scultura Endurance bikes are designed for comfort. The high-quality bikes are best suited for competitions and day-long trips across the Alps. Merida Scultura Rival Edition: The Rival Edition is the non plus ultra among the Merida Scultura Endurance road bikes. The new Scultura convinces with a clear look. The cable pulls run inside the frame. The 35 mm wide tires allow a wide range of use.
Merida Scultura Team: The Scultura Team convinces with speed and comfort. The design is based on the Reacto Aero road bike. The Merida Scultura Endurance bikes are mainly available in frame sizes XS to XL. Depending on the model, you can get the bikes in elegant colors like Silk Black or Transparent Green. Size M is one of the most common frame sizes. The specifications regarding weight and features are therefore usually based on frame size M.
No matter which variant you choose, the bikes from Taiwan are equipped with the best possible components. This is the case with the Merida Scultura Endurance and Road bikes. From international manufacturers to in-house production, everything is represented.
Well-known producers such as Shimano, SRAM, Continental and Prologo are used.
Switching groups: For the rear derailleur, front derailleur, crank, brake lever and other parts of the shifting group, several series are used. The Shimano Ultegra, Shimano Ultegra Di2, Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 as well as the Shimano 105 stand for different quality classes. With the Shimano 105 you have a robust and reliable circuit to choose from.
Somewhat higher quality are the Shimano Ultegra, which are available with the Shimano Ultegra Di2 as electronic shifting. In addition to shift levers Shimano Ultegra Di2, the Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 and the SRAM Rival eTap AXS are also operated electronically. In addition to precise shifting, they offer you a better look.
For the cassette, the Shimano CS-R9200 as well as the Shimano CS-HG700 are installed, among others. For the bottom bracket, the SM-BB92-41B, Pressfit 86.5 is used.
Brakes: The brakes come from the same suppliers as the shifting groups. Disc brakes are used throughout. Even on the cheapest model, you'll find the superior disc brakes. Rim brakes were common practice until a few years ago. However, they can no longer keep up with the new technology.
In the Scultura Team you get to taste the Disc Cooler technology. This prevents the overheating of the brakes during a demanding use.
Drive systems: With the electronic version, you have a motor at your disposal. With this, you can keep up with the higher-class riders. There are no more limits and you can enjoy the environment to the fullest.
Saddle: Heat is dissipated from the Merida Expert SL saddle via the CNC-milled cooling fins. This increases your comfort in hot races and you have more energy left for the hunt to the top. Alongside the Expert SL comes the Prologo Scratch M5.
Seatpost: The Merida Team SL seatpost ensures that the saddle fits properly and the correct ergonomics is achieved.
Handlebars & Stem: For handlebars and stem, the components from our own research are also preferred. They are adapted every year again to the new models and the head tube.
Wheels: The wheelset, such as the Merida Expert SL or Fulcrum Racing 800, is combined with the Expert SL axle.
Tires: Tire clearance on endurance bikes is mostly 35 mm. The choice of tires is either the Continental Grand Prix 5000 TR or the Maxxis Detonator.
From backpacks, mounts and lights, Merida offers you a wide range of accessories. You have to decide for yourself what you need for your next tours or for the way to work.
