More details

Do you like 90s mountain bikes? Do you want to climb like Olympic gold medalist Margarita Fullana? Do you want to rip downhill like Jason McRoy? Do you want a vintage dentist bike? - Old Shovel

Then look no further than this S-Works M4!

This bike is kitted out with the best collection of vintage and modern American-made quality parts to help you shred the mountain. From the American-made Specialized frame (made with computers because apparently that was cool at the time) to the American-made Manitou carbon/magnesium fork. A more modern American-made Wolf Tooth chainring and bolts ensure that chain won’t fly off on those gnarly descents and jumps.

The derailleur and cassette aren’t anything super fancy; however, they shift like butter. The cassette has the perfect ratio for Florida, where the bike is right now, and the derailleur is good as it’s widely available in whichever bike shop you decide to go to in case you manage to bash it off because you just shred that much.

The wheels are a set of brand-new Velocity Cliffhangers with quality Shimano Deore hubs wrapped in supple Stan’s tires. The wheels have tubes in them right now; however, they’ve been taped with WTB tubeless tape and are ready to be converted to tubeless with just valves and sealant. DT spokes because they are basically the best.

Up at the cockpit, you will have a nice Origin 8 riser stem with Ritchey laid-back bars to keep the comfort for those long climbs up the fire road and for those days you want to tear it up at the gravel trails, speeding past all the modern gravel bikes. Vans grips are probably the best-looking and feeling grips. And the Ritchey saddle is comfortable on the climbs and slim enough so it doesn’t get in the way of your descents. WTB NOS clipless Shimano SPD-style pedals keep your feet locked in.

Coveted Shimano XTR V-brakes and Avid pads and levers provide powerful braking, similar in feel to modern hydraulic disc brakes.

Some of the less notable but still amazing parts are the Tange made-in-Japan headset and the Specialized seat post/seat clamp.
