Here is the listing of my Pinarello Sestriere. I bought it in summer 2022 from the previous owner with the intention to build a bike which has all the modern parts but a classic appearance.
However I gradually realised it was too large for me (you can obviously see that the current set up is a bit weird as I tried making it fit). Nevertheless the bike rides smoothly despite the age etc.
Here are the problems with the bike. There are obviously cosmetic marks and dirt due to normal use and age. Rust (as this is a steel frame) is mainly around the mud guard connecting points. The left side of the fork was repainted by the previous owner (it wasn’t a good job hence the colour).
One recent problem is with the head tube and the steering now feels a bit weird. I do not know the cause of it, but I imagine it’s not a complex fix.
Below is the spec of the bike:
Frame: size 56 Pinarello Forma Cr-Mo steel tubes with fine tig welds. I’m 5’9 and not every flexible hence it’s not for me. If you are shorter than me or not flexible it will be a tough fit.
Group set: Campagnolo Athena Ultra Torque 11 Speed with carbon Athena shifters, recently fitted new hoods. Crank length 172.5mm; Chainset 50/34 with 11/28 cassette. They are really dirty and definitely need a good clean. I would recommend the new owner to change all the cables for a smoother experience.
Wheels: Campagnolo Zonda C17 clincher in really good condition. £350 when new
Tyres: Pirelli Cinturato 28mm. These are almost brand new with only 100miles done, cost £120 when new
Handle bar: EXS (Chinese brand) compact carbon handle bar, 400mm top, 420mm drop, 70mm reach, £160 when new
Stem: Mt.Zoom (a UK brand), 90 grams!, 90mm, £50 when new
Headset: Chris King
Seat post: Thomson Elite 27.2, 250mm. I’ve changed the saddle clamp to a carbon one to fit with the carbon rail, will include the original Thomson clamp as well.
Saddle: Fizik Tempo Argo carbon rail 199g
Skewers: Taiwanese brand lightweight skewers (50g a pair). Also have the original Campag skewers if needed
The bike at its current set up weighs 9.6kg (incl. bottle cage and peddles) which is pretty light for a size 56 steel bike with no weight weenie parts used.
Comes with everything as it seems except for the Quadlock mount, peddles and rear light.
