When the mountain bike wave poured from the United States to Europe in the 1980s, Colnago, after Cinelli and Rossin, also had to adapt to the situation by creating its own models, as it was realized that the MTB was not a passing fad as many of our frame builders thought.
Similar to their approach to road bikes, their cross-country bikes were designed to be top of the class.
So it was no surprise that the famous Columbus Profilo S4 Gilco tubing was used for their frames.
These tubes were originally designed for the victorious Master, the legendary road bike model.
