Many parts are newer than the model year. For example, I recently fitted the entire drivetrain and have only been riding it for about 1/2 - 1 year, the pedals are about as new... The headset has been freshly serviced and the headset claw is brand new. The bike comes with a softer spring for the shock, a fixed aluminum seat post and a few "little things".
