Congrats! You sold your bike on buycycle and are ready to ship it. Once you’ve gotten our packaging material, here’s how you proceed.

How to pack your bike in the small buycycle box
1. Checking the box
Before we start packing and wrapping, please make sure that you’ve got all the packaging material you need. This is what should be in the buycycle box you’ve just received:
- main bike box
- small box for accessories
- front axle support
- perforated cardboard
- rear wheel support
- long cardboard that looks like a double-sided arrow
- frame protector
- rectangular cardboard with a slit
- front wheel protectors
- 2 cardboard squares

You’ll further need:
- scissors
- tape
- allen keys
Once you’ve ensured that your packaging material is complete, you can start to pack your bike.
2. Prepping the box and its inlays
1. Build the main and small boxes
Unfold the main box and pop it open. Place it upside down with the buycycle logo facing down.
Fold the shorter flaps inward, then the longer ones, and secure with tape.
Take the smaller accessories box, fold it into a cube and secure with tape.
2. Assemble the front axle holder
Take the large piece with holes and fold both sides open.
Starting from where the sides connect, fold along the pre-cut lines, alternating directions until the entire piece is folded.
Bring the sides together, folding the small flaps upward to form an upside-down "T".
3. Assemble the rear wheel support
Fold the longest piece by bringing the wings inward and flipping the side over.
Align the hinges with the sockets and fold the side flap upward, securing it in the open slot.
Repeat this on the other side to form a triangular shape.
4. Assemble the frame protector
Fold the longer side up and over the small flaps, securing the hinges into the sockets.
Fold the small side flaps on the rectangular piece inward.
Flip the piece over and press down on the center flaps.
3. Prepping the bike:
1. Remove and protect the front wheel
Take off the front axle and wheel, placing a spacer or cardboard between disc brake pads (if applicable).
Insert the front axle holder between the fork and reinsert your axle.
Place a square protector on each side of the front wheel, securing all sides with tape.
2. Adjust the handlebar
Loosen the stem screws. Rotate the handlebar and stem to one side.
Hook the handlebar under the top tube for compact packing.
3. Remove and protect the seatpost
Remove the seatpost, wrap it in bubble wrap or newspaper, and secure with tape.
4. Packing everything in the box
1. Put the bike in the box
- Insert the triangular rear wheel support in one corner of the box
- Place the bike in the box, ensuring the rear wheel wedges into the inlay, and the front axle holder sits flush at the bottom.
- If the front axle is misaligned, adjust it accordingly.
2. Don’t forget your accessories
Place the front wheel next to the bike on the front drive side.
Store the seatpost in front of the fork.
Place the accessories box next to the bike on the rear drive side.
3. Secure the top
Insert the final support inlay on top of the bike and wheel.
Close the box, tape it securely, and you’re good to go.
5. Ship your bike!
Congrats! Your bike is now ready to be shipped. Download the shipping label in your buycycle profile, print it out and stick it on the box. Soon, one of our logistic partners will pick up the box and ship it to its new owner!
